About this project

This research and conservation project uses GPS tracking to better understand the migration, behaviour, and conservation needs of the Steppe Eagle. In 2018–2019, the team GPS-tagged 21 Steppe Eagles in north-west Kazakhstan and analyzed movement and behaviour across migration. The work also supports methodological learning by using tracking data to evaluate the effectiveness of migration monitoring approaches, including the Eilat Soaring Birds Survey.
