About this project

The Amur Bird Project was a volunteer-based ornithological research and conservation initiative centred at Muraviovka Park in the Amur oblast of the Russian Far East. Over nearly a decade, the project combined bird ringing, geolocator tracking, habitat monitoring, and capacity building to document and protect migratory birds along the East Asian–Central Asian Flyway. Through multiple summer schools, it trained over 100 volunteers and students in ornithological fieldwork, and the initiative contributed to more than 30 international scientific publications.
