Migration Ecology of Eurasian Curlew and Whimbrel in the Ganges–Brahmaputra–Meghna Delta (Bangladesh)

This project studied the migration ecology of Eurasian Curlew and Whimbrel in the Ganges–Brahmaputra–Meghna Delta in Bangladesh (2021–2023). This project studied the migration ecology of Eurasian Curlew and Whimbrel in the Ganges–Brahmaputra–Meghna Delta in Bangladesh (2021–2023). It aimed to identify migratory routes, breeding areas, habitat-use patterns, and key stopover sites, with attention to how these species use the delta during the non-breeding period. Field activities included population monitoring and behavioural observations, alongside tracking approaches to understand movements and habitat preferences. The findings contribute to a clearer evidence base on migration ecology and inform conservation considerations for these shorebirds within the Central Asian Flyway context.
