Since 2021, this project has investigated the migration ecology of Black-tailed Godwits in the Ganges–Brahmaputra–Meghna Delta in Bangladesh. It focuses on mapping migratory movements, identifying key non-breeding sites and stopovers, and clarifying which subspecies use Bangladesh during the non-breeding season. Field activities include population monitoring, behavioural observations, and satellite tracking to understand site use and movement patterns across the delta. The work provides evidence to support conservation planning for migratory shorebirds in one of the world’s largest river deltas and strengthens knowledge relevant to flyway-scale conservation.
